Top signs your pet needs to visit the veterinarian

Pets hide discomfort by instinct. Knowing the quiet signals helps you act early, when treatment is simplest and kindest.

Watch for these changes

Sudden appetite shifts. Skipping two meals in a row — or sudden ravenous hunger paired with weight loss — deserves a call.

More hiding, less playing. A social pet retreating under furniture, or a playful one going flat, is often the first sign of pain.

Thirst and bathroom changes. Drinking far more water, straining, or accidents after years of good habits can flag urinary or kidney issues.

Bad breath and drooling. Most pets over three show some dental disease. Bleeding gums, dropped food or pawing at the mouth mean a dental exam is overdue.

Scratching, licking and odor. Constant ear scratching, paw chewing or a yeasty smell point to allergies or infection — both very treatable.

When it is urgent

Labored breathing, repeated vomiting, bloating, collapse, seizures or any eye injury need same-day care. Call (555) 012-4567 and we will guide you straight in.
